Southminster Presbyterian Church has many opportunities for members and friends to become involved in the study of God’s word and to serve God through the teaching of His word.

Adult Education

Our Adult class meets on Sunday mornings from September through May in our Parlor at 11:00 a.m. for an inductive program led by Blair Nelson. We enjoy study and discussion of the Books of the Bible as presented in The Books of the Bible: New Testament. Come join us for stimulating conversation and edifying study.

Sunday School

Children are a valued part of the Southminster community. Our goal is to nurture their growing faith through programs designed especially for them. Our children share in the first 20 minutes of our worship service, are invited to participate in a Children’s Moment that is geared towards them and then the teachers and children leave for Sunday School. Special Sundays are designated throughout the year for the children to remain in worship through the entire service.

Sunday School Teachers

Southminster has a strong Sunday School program and much of the success can be attributed to the volunteers who lead and teach. Opportunities come in all sizes and include:

  • Sunday School teacher or helper
  • Nursery attendant
  • Chaperone (youth trip or special outing)
  • Confirm and mentor
  • Vacation Bible School coordinator, teacher or helper
  • Summer Sunday School teacher or helper

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held every summer for one week in July. Children from Southminster and the community are all welcome.

Women’s Bible Study

During the school year, the Women’s Bible Study Group meets in our Parlor most Sunday evenings to study scripture and topics of a spiritual nature. Please consult the calendar.
