Reverend Wendy Boden-Nelson has served Southminster Presbyterian Church since the fall of 2008 and celebrated the 25th anniversary of her ordination on October 1, 2014. Wendy has a B.A. in history from the University of Connecticut and earned her Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She has served churches in Westchester, California; Burlington, Iowa; Madison, Wisconsin and for 15 years in Baraboo, Wisconsin. She is married to Reverend Dr. Blair Nelson, an adjunct professor at the College of DuPage and Benedictine University. Their son Max attends Iowa State University and daughter Anna attends Glenbard South High School.
Wendy believes that the Kingdom of God is a place where leaders serve rather than strut; where the broken are mended, not discarded; where the lost are found, not forgotten and where all are welcomed home in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
In addition to her busy ministry, Wendy enjoys many pursuits, including following the University of Connecticut basketball. She took great delight in the Huskies winning the 2014 March Madness, despite her son supporting the Iowa State Cyclones and her husband supporting the Wisconsin Badgers.
