In our tradition Jesus Christ is present as host of the Lord’s Supper. The Presbyterian tradition offers open communion to all; you do not need to be a Presbyterian or a member of Southminster in order to share in the Lord’s Supper. Those who share in communion need to be baptized and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
We offer communion in the home for those confined to their homes or hospital.
Communion is offered generally on the First Sunday of the month and on some other special days designated by the session. Communion is served alternating months by intinction (coming forward and receiving the bread and juice) and in the pews.
In Christian love and concern Southminster Presbyterian church offers gluten free bread and alcohol free grape juice.
