Confirmation

We offer confirmation classes for young people interested in confirming their baptismal vows. When you are ready to be confirmed, please contact the pastor.

Installation/Ordination

In our tradition, the offices of Deacon and Elder are ordained. They share the leadership with the pastor for their congregation. Following a period of instruction by the pastor they are ordained for life and are installed for three years of active service which can be renewed.

Youth Sunday

Join us when the children and youth of our congregation lead the congregation in worship through song, liturgy, and scripture. Children and youth are active in worship during the year as liturgists, musicians, and acolytes.

For more information about children and youth in worship please see the Sunday School page.

Ash Wednesday/Taize

Each Ash Wednesday Southminster shares in a Taize service, a form of worship that includes sung prayer, scripture reading, silence, and music. We offer Taize services on exceptional occasions as well, such as one we held for Haiti after its recent earthquake.
