Welcome Home!

That greeting may seem premature, but it is heartfelt! Southminster is a caring community of Christian faith, hope, and love, who welcomes all of God’s children home. Whether you have wandered far or remained close, you are welcomed here. (Luke 15)

When you arrive, a friendly face will greet you and help you find your way. There is valet parking available. We gather together to worship Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a nursery available. Older children through fifth grade join us for the first half of the service, then are dismissed to Sunday School for the second half. Dress as you like, some of us wear suits and ties and others wear jeans and sneakers. Before the service begins, you might notice that some are silent during gathering music, while others chat. We are a family – greeting one another. Some need quiet and while others need connection and we offer both.

We are small enough so we know each other, but large enough to make a difference. We would love to talk with you.

Take a tour of our web site, send us an email or give us a call.

Make our home yours. We belong to God and to one another.

Special Events

We seek to provide a spiritual home where people can:

Love God

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37

Love Neighbor

‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:39

Love One Another

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

Even Love Our Enemies

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

Go

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
